Harkon72
Rattan is a good wood for Nunchaku, a little on the light side but at this price, go for it. Look to the far mountain and see all.
sensei8
Rattan is good. However, I don't like the chain. I love the rope!! Why? Chains bind, ropes don't. **Proof is on the floor!!!

Zaine
Rattan is good. However, I don't like the chain. I love the rope!! Why? Chains bind, ropes don't. I prefer rope as well for the same reason. SteyrAUG
Good for what application?Spinning around? Sure. Any kind of actual contact training? Forget it. There are nunchaku that will survive 30-40 years and there are nunchaku that won't make it past 5 years.Oldest example in this photo are from 1975.These date to the late 60s early 70s.All still good to go... unknownstyle
If you are going traditional these are not the way to go. for training for real you need rope. also the length of rope should be short. less than one fist should fit between the two sides.
