Xtreme Fury Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 Hi, I've been doing lots of strength training lately, but then something came to mind. Can girls get humongous muscles if they do too much strenghting exercises? Because that's the last thing I want, I don't think they look good on guys anyway, they would look worse on girls i think. I just want muscles that are somewhat visible and in good shape, but still small.. I think this is called "ripped" or something. lol.
Radok Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 they can get pretty big but they lack the hormones to get humongous. They will lose their boobs though, and that's even nastier. If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point. Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.
Jack Posted September 27, 2002 Posted September 27, 2002 Women have only 1/100th of the essential muscle building hormone "Testosterone" that men have, this means it is naturally impossible for women to get bulky, don't worry. The women Bodybuilders you have seen which are very large and ripped have taken additional testosterone as well as pro-hormones or anabolic steroids. Keep up ther strength training to build and to a degree grow the size of muscles, and then start adding more cardio to shed off the fat, and you will create the "toned" effect. Xtreme Fury Posted September 27, 2002 Author Posted September 27, 2002 Thanks Jack, am I glad or what. and Radok are you sure we can go boobless?? I've seen girls way stronger then those muscular guys(so they must have trained strength a lot since big people are pretty strong) but still they don't seem boobless.....
diamondick Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 Yes I agree, It is all a matter of hormones if girls take Testosterone you will increase muscle building potential. If guys take estrogens, female hormones, they will grow boobs. and become punier.
Xtreme Fury Posted September 28, 2002 Author Posted September 28, 2002 Disturbing... But fat guys have boobs. lol.
Red J Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 Drew Carey calls them he-hooters. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Radok Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 oh, yes run a search on googles images option for mrs. olimpia and see for yourself. If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. Jack Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 Radok, that would be from all the testosterone, not just the muscle being bult. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
KickChick Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 On the contrary Radok on breast size when bodybuilding (assuming you aren't using anabolic steroids) B reasts are composed of both fat and glandular breast tissue, and the relative amounts are different for each female. For example, some females will have larger b reasts even if they have lower bodyfat, and others will have relatively smaller b reasts at any level of bodyfat. So, while losing bodyfat is a pretty reliable way to shrink your b reasts, genetics will determine just how much you lose. In general, it is quite rare to have large b reasts at a low level of bodyfat, (which is why most swimsuit and fitness models have implants ). Building the pectoral muscles underneath the b reasts will not make them perky if they are already sagging, but every little bit helps, and the visible division of the pectoral muscles at the top of the ribcage helps to create the illusion of cleavage if you're lacking it. However, the b reast tissue is independent of the muscle beneath it, so you can't make your b reasts bigger or even smaller ... by doing chest work. Building muscle mass on the chest will do little to affect the shape or size of the actual b reasts. Now.... anabolic steroid abuse has been associated with alot of adverse side effects ranging from some that are physically unattractive, such as acne and b reast development in men and gynecomastia in females (which is the disruption of normal hormone balance) causing masculinization in females. B reast size and body fat decreases, the skin becomes coarse, and the voice deepens. Women may experience excessive growth of body hair but lose scalp hair. With continued use of steroids these effects are irreversible.
