Hello,

I am just wondering what you guys favourite Pinan kata was.

You can vote and/or reply and say why it is your favourite. I would like some "Why it is my favourite" messages please, as I like to see what you think :)

This poll does not close.

Best regards,

Pinan Yondan is my best Pinan Kata because it has power and control, speed and focus, strong stances and turns, the bunkai is good, open to the Karateka for application, it's the best for me, I love the last Kiai point with the Hiza Geri/Ni Empi/Shuto uke combination, magick!

Look to the far mountain and see all.

I agree completely there, my friend.

Darn it, I needed Bob to teach me a Pinan kata! :brow:

I will!!

I love Pinan Yondan because it's got quite a lot of "meat" on its bone, and my oh my, the Bunkai/Oyo, are endless. So much so, that when I think that I've disected it throughly, I discover something new.

Pinan Yondan for me please!

:)

I'm not particularly fond of the Pinan series, as a whole, but of the lot my favorite would be Pinan Yondan. There is some good stuff in it, but nothing that isn't in other Shorin-Ryu kata outside the Pinan series--it's very "Kusanku-ish."

Mine would be Godan, I love the dynamics of it, the power in it's moves, it's just fantastic.

I have to say however that I love all Pinan/Heian Kata and that as has been mentioned by others (not on here), that Itosu invented the series as a whole and not as seperate kata (the entire series put together forms the whole).
