I've covered joint locks and sweeps in previous posts. Now what's everyone's favorites chokes in both Gi and no Gi?

In the Gi I have a few. I usually go for a cross choke from the bottom, or if if in a top position I am looking for a paper cutter, clock, or bow and arrow depending on the position on top. As far as no Gi I'm pretty simple it's either a darce or guillotine. So what's yours?

My favorite no-gi choke, and the choke I hit most often in both gi and no-gi grappling, would be Kata Gatame (arm triangle). In a gi, my favorite choke is Kataha Jime (shoulder wing choke), but it's much harder to get.

I get confused sometimes when martial artists refer to chokes and strangles as being the same category of technique. Chokes cut off the air supply and strangles cut off the blood supply; is this right?

Look to the far mountain and see all.

Standing triangle is a no-gi winner.

Cross lapel is a great gi finisher.

Never met a choke I didn't like. The bread cutter is another personal favorite.
