i dont think you usually see girls in muay thai. so this is for anyone in here that takes kickboxing or muay thai: are there girls in your class and if there is how many? my friend(she's a girl) is planning to take it, but she wants to know. i might take it with her...

In my Muay Thai class we only have a few females, about 4 training. The reason for lack of females in Muay Thai is they shy away from the full contact and aggressive style that is taught. Yet the females that do train are tough and have great potential of fighting in the ring. Sure the training is hard on the body BUT it prepares you to be EFFECTIVE in a fight or self-defense situation. So don't worry, believe in yourself even if you are the only female in class, I'm sure you'll teach a few guys a good lesson and don't forget HAVE FUN!

I believe that Muay Thai is for all Sex Genders

 

Male or female.

 

I mean, you see ZhangZiyi in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" so why not female MuayThai Kick boxers?

i agree with gold mauy thai is for everyone. i just think girls would be less attracted to that kinda thing.

and i agree xpoison freex. a lot of girls i know aren't interested in fighting or anything, they're interested in just fitness and maybe even sparring light contact. but still there are quite a few girls that want to go full out and beat up the boys or something. lol.

Hello, I am a female and take Muay Thai classes 3 times a week and love it. It's tough and I am really sore and a bit bruised but I have learned so much. There are a few girls in the class.

good for you red! i think its good that its not only men who get into mauy thai.

Here in Calgary there is a Muai Thai gym run by mike miles. Apparently like 70% of his students are female.

70% female muay thai students!!! I'd like to go there to train lol But surely I may be too distracted
