Harkon72
I have a goal, I want to run a local mountain range in a day.The run starts from my house, then two and a half miles uphill to Nasareth, a local village. Then eight miles along a ridge that finishes at Rhyd Ddu, at the foot of Snowdon. Then back down the valley for six miles to my house again. The highest point is about 2,000 feet; my house is 250 feet above sea level. It will take 6 months for me to train for it. I plan to do it in 5 hours. I have a Mentor, Mick was a Para PTI, he will plan the rout and meet me at a few check points along the way. I start my training in January. Does anyone think this is possible? Look to the far mountain and see all.
Zaine
I think it is if you take that training seriously. It's quite the feat but seems like an awesome thing to accomplish. Keep us updated about the training progress. Good luck, I hope you can accomplish this. DWx
Good luck Harkon72! Seems like quite a feat but I'm sure if you train smart and train hard, you'll do it. Sounds like the worst part will be running at that elevation. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius

bushido_man96
If I counted right, that's 16 miles? I think its doable. Have you checked the kinds of running times people tend to average for your age group? Have you done running in the past? If so, you should be able to get some idea of a realistic time you can expect to complete it in. The uphill slope would be a killer, along with the altitude. But, I think if you focus and train hard, you can do it. Good luck and yes, keep us posted! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Harkon72
Mick gave me a copy of the training program as a Christmas gift! The "Bast*rds" exercise looks interesting, 40 of those a day and I should be well on my way. Diet, stretching, hydration and a good interval running program starts this weekend. I go for my Medical tomorrow! Look to the far mountain and see all.
