chrisw08 Posted August 9, 2012 Share Posted August 9, 2012 The katas I know are fuku gata itche, Ni, Son and I was curious when I practice I normaly go through each one ten times so 30 fuku gatas. I was wondering everytime you do the kata how many calories you burn and how many calories should I be eating the days I do it 30 times so any help on that? Go at it hard and you'll burn more calories than if you're just going through the movements.A positive result of becoming more efficient as you advance is that you can use much less energy to produce much more power. My estimate is that efficient (whole body, koshi driven, whiplike) mechanics requires only 25% as much effort (less in some cases). You will not get as exhausted during training -- however, will not burn as many calories either.If you were doing 20 kata before using exhausting mechanics, you will not burn as many calories doing the same number of kata using efficient mechanics. Some of the variables are: your age, size, fitness level, metabolic rate, what you are doing, how hard you are doing it, work rest ratio, etc. etc. etc.Why are you looking into this?
