Glad to hear it! Make sure you warm up first and stretch your lower back and hamstrings. Hold each one for 12-15 seconds (NO BOUNCING) and breathe down to your core to help you relax. Hope this helps get you started!

cheers .. really addicted to it again want to try for my second dan , but mainly back to take my 2 daughters to give them a bit of confidence etc..

you forget how old you are and really been struggling with my suppleness ..

but all tips welcome cheers

You should do your stretching at the end of class and on off days. It is helpful to warm up and you can do this by simply walking a bit, taking a hot bath or some exercise that heats up the body. Take it slow, you'll get there if you do so and are disciplined. Anyone can become flexible if they do so.

They're just a way to do the stretches.

Do gentle kick-stretching in the mornings and before class. Don't do static stretches before class. Do static stretches after class/exercise. Stretch every day and the flexibility will come fast.

I'm trying to picture that, but alas i'm still hazy on what position you are going down into to figure out where you are coming up from or to.. Might be because different people define flexibility a bit differently, depending on their needs, which vary.

What types and directions of flexibility are you looking for, and what exercises are you using so far? Maybe we can offer you some tips or stretches you haven't tried yet.
