Sounds good to me. Make sure your nutrition (protein in this case especially) is good. Remember that you will lose a little bit of power purely on account of losing mass - that isn't too bad a thing. Also don't go overboard on it. It's one thing to make sure you've got low enough body fat to have a good 6-pack, but bad to turn into a male equivalent of an anorexic.

After a littel while off training to concentrate of work and research, I put on a bit of weight (not the good kind) and I have found that in dropping back to my pre-binging weight, i am loosing some of my bulk strength.

I have coutered this with resistance training. This has helped me drop weight and make up for bulk muscle/weight loss of pwer with speed. Remember Power is largely the result of acceleration and mass (when defining mechanical force where F= ma). Resistance training will help maintain speed while allowing for mass loss therefore evening out the power scenario.

Hope this helps.

I would supplement with a good quality whey protein while you're dieting. It'll help you burn fat, and maintain muscle.

Keep you meals small but consistent. Dont go longer than 3 hours with a snack, and always include some form of protein with each meal.
