Bon Posted August 18, 2002 Posted August 18, 2002 (edited) ::edit:: Edited September 29, 2002 by Bon It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
The_Yak Posted August 18, 2002 Posted August 18, 2002 that sounds like a good workout on cardio days. The Yak"Patience is the key to understanding""The man who is first is often last"
Northren Ogre Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 I work as a guard in a prison, and I've never seen anyone try this. Mostly you see inmates do some pushups and then flex and touch their chest for 30 mins....FEEL THE BURN! http://prkickboxing.tripod.com

metalhead Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 My junior high Gym Teacher made us do those. I always suspected he belonged in prison.........j/k "Do not assume I share your prejudices"
Red J Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 Interesting article, I enjoyed the injected humor of running down to get chains from HD and an orange suit...Maybe a video could be made and it could start a new trend...We could have...Burping with the oldies... Seriously, this would be a good workout. Like when you go on vacation and still want a little exercise or if you are pressed for time. I can see benefits for cardio, strength, coordination, and agility. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
BlackI Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 We do something similar. We have two different versions. One is called a squat thrust and the second is pile up. The squat thrust Standing feet should width apart, Squat down and place your palms on the floor and Kick your feet out, into push up position. Preform that sequence in reverse and you have performed one. We do about 50 of these at a time. The Pile up is just like a squat thrust except you do a push up. Now I think this is where it differs a little bit from the one described on the web site. Once we are in push up position we do a push up, but the number of push up you do has to match the number you are on. One pile up, one push up, Pile# 2 2 push ups, Pile #3 three push ups and so on and so on. These are a really good Cardio work out. Our black belt have to do 35 of these none stop. I can only do about five, for now In search of the Temple of Light
Shay415 Posted September 13, 2002 Posted September 13, 2002 I do that at my muay thai gym all the time. Shiet. My Fellow fighters there fight like their from prison Made in Thailand.
Bitseach Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 We used to do burpees in the British Army all the bloody time! One always had to jump up really high as the last move too. Another cruel twist, as somebody already mentioned, is the burpee with integrated press-up. Always a joy, never a chore [ahem]. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My karma will run over your dogma~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
