Knee Brace for Shotokan

Featured Replies

My knee pops and moves in and out of it's socket so I was wondering if someone can recommend a good knee brace? I'm due for arthroscopic knee surgery next year so until then I wanted to buy a decent knee brace for Shotokan training and working out. I was considering Mueller Hg80 Hinged knees brace: http://www.muellersportsmed.com/Hg80_Knee_Hinged.htm

Those are some fancy looking knee braces. I had knee problems a little while ago and I just wore the cheap sleeves that I bought at a drugstore.

Ultimately, I think a doctor is the best person to ask because he/she will know your specific needs--much more than a bunch of people reading a paragraph you wrote and trying to give you medical advice based off of that.

I suppose that anything that keeps your knee tight and supported will be good enough until you get your surgery. The Hg80 looks like it will do a good job of that.

Good luck!
