bushido_man96
I'd get up and get your homework there, if I were you. Get a crutch or a cane to support your weight, if you need to.As for the injury, I've done that a few times, and it sucked each time. Keep the brace on for a while, and after it heals, you might consider getting some ace wrap or a softer brace for your ankle to wear from now on, just to add support. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
isshinryu5toforever
Bring a doctor's note attesting to the fact that you can't move or you'll hurt yourself further. If that doesn't work, go to the head of the English department to see what they say. Your prof shouldn't be that hard on you. It's not your fault you got hurt. He who knows others is wise. Jay
I did this about 6 months ago, only recently has my ankle been good. I didn't train for about 3 months because my ankle was sore and not right. It depends what grade sprain you have but rest for 2-4 weeks to let it heal. You don't want to go over on it again (as I did) then it takes longer to heal. My ankle is still swollen 6 months later. When your ankle feels better shoot me a pm or bump the thread and I can give you some exercises for ankle stability that my physio told me to do. The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
isshinryu5toforever
^ this, do this.If you don't let it rest and you injure it again, you could do permanent damage. As bad as the itch is, would you rather be out of martial arts for a month or out for a lifetime? He who knows others is wise. holley
it will suck. i just have to remmember to wear my shoes when i do go back to karate. I my as well. my sensei doesnt have a proble with it. the only reason i say that is because then there is support for my ankle rather than barefoot. Now an orangebelt!!! isshinryu5toforever
Ask your doctor first. Don't just assume that because you can walk you can do martial arts. Those are two way different things. KarateGeorge
when i went to the dr after it happend he said that after a week my ankle should be fine and i could go back to karateRemember to use a little prudence when you start back up. At the onset, the doctor is going to be estimating based on typical heal times for a sprain. Some people heal faster or slower than others, so don't just jump back in when you hit the one week mark. Make sure you're actually healed back up again.
