Jay Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I would say better than a DVD try some of the only training series, however you have to try and attend seminars with the people you are trianing with otherwise you won't get critique which is what you need. The other option is to use the DVD but tape what you are doing and constantly compare them. I try and do this when training on my own.Best to really get to a gym you could also go down the private lesson route as well. The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
Davisonsensei Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Is there any other dojos in your area? Maybe you could find a dojo close by that could acommadate your schedule. The key to immorality is first living a life worth remembering
kamahlthedruid Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 There is wing chun on the weekends but I tried one class and I didn't like the unnatural stance.
bushido_man96 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I'd give it more that one class before discounting it entirely. I think there would be a lot of good things to come out of Wing Chun, given the chance. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
kamahlthedruid Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 I think the best choice for me are private lessons. I found a place that charges 20 dollars a lesson.
bushido_man96 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 How long? Which style? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
kamahlthedruid Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 I plan on taking Defense360, which is the predecessor of mcmap. The classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, and each class is 20 dollars. I really like another dojo; however, I don't have the time to train there.
bushido_man96 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Let us know how it goes. $20 per lesson seems a bit steep to me. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
kamahlthedruid Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 The instructor also teaches firearms, and these classes are more pricey.
kamahlthedruid Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Soo Bahk DO lessons are even more expensive at the local gym because it cost 70 dollars for only a few lessons. No one ever attend these classes.
