Ranpu Posted October 1, 2010 Share Posted October 1, 2010 I recently joined the Marines and I'm in the DEP but I agree, most U.S. citizens don't see that being "fit" is much of an issue. Most of it is responsibility as isshinryu5toforever said, and most people who do try to get fit don't have the commitment to do it, they just keep putting it off.It's not an overly large issue, but it is an issue that I find rather embarrassing for our country. Most of it is responsibility as isshinryu5toforever said, and most people who do try to get fit don't have the commitment to do it, they just keep putting it off.It's not an overly large issue, but it is an issue that I find rather embarrassing for our country.Congrats on making the decision to join the Marines I was going to go that route but chose the Air Force instead, I am now seperated but undergone a lot of good training but you will go through more lol, I recommend doing a lot of pull ups and being able to run 3 miles in under 28mins, unlike our boot camp where there is maybe one or 2 TI's (training instructors) you are going to have about 5 in your face, just do what your supposed to and you'll be great and under the radar as we called it, someone will always do worse!!
