Survey: Common Upper Extremity Injuries in Martial Artists

Featured Replies

Hello,

Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com.

I was recently introduced to Dr. Matt M. Diesselhorst, who is a Resident Physician in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences. Along with his mentors, Dr. Ghazi Rayan and Dr. Charles Pasque, he is working on a study focused on common upper extremity injuries sustained among martial artists. Through the research, they hope to achieve a better understanding of these injuries and the martial arts from an orthopedic standpoint, which would then hopefully lead to better care for martial artists and fighters.

We have agreed to support his efforts by inviting members of KarateForums.com to participate in a survey. It should only take between 5 and 10 minutes to complete and no personally identifiable information is required. Please consider taking the survey at the link below:

Thank you for reading and for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Patrick

Done!

Done, but it wasn't very satisfying, do we boast about our fractures, dislocations and amputations here?

Only kidding - one broken pinky for me, reverse punch met a reverse punch when we both thought we were attacking...
