BlueDragon1981 Posted July 29, 2002 Author Posted July 29, 2002 Its a proven fact that medicines made of natural items (from mother nature) are better for you than sythetic ones. When you run you are not suppose to touch your heels on the ground. It causes shock and resistance to the leg. Which in turn can damage your ankle and knees. You are suppose to run up on the balls of your feet and let your heel almost touch the ground. (This is actually kind of hard to explain). You can feel the difference though. If you run correctly it even seems like your running softer. The acid in your stomach can disolve a peice of metal over a small amout of time.
KickChick Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 Use pepper and spices instead [of salt] to give your food that added flavor. Spicy food slows you down: You simply can't wolf down highly seasoned food the way you can wolf down bland dishes. And, by slowing down your pace, you tend to eat less
Taikudo-ka Posted July 30, 2002 Posted July 30, 2002 To add to BlueDragon's points on running... Why do most people lift their legs so high when they run? Particularly people trying to do long distance running - some of them virtually jog on the spot, wasting vast amounts of energy to move slowly. The serious runner focuses on horizontal movement - getting a good long stride, and lifts the leg only the minimum amount necessary. Foot landig is light, like BlueDragon says. One does not "pound the pavement", rather one pushes off from the pavement. But I'm surprised how many people "pound the ground", even when they walk. KarateForums.com - Sempai

shaolinprincess Posted August 1, 2002 Posted August 1, 2002 if you are a morning person and you are actuall awake in the morning you sould work out before you even eat breakfast. But if your body is not awake in the morning you shouldn't worlout until in is. As if many people are awake in the morning. It's what you put into it...1st kyu-Okinawa Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito Federation
BlueDragon1981 Posted August 2, 2002 Author Posted August 2, 2002 Alot of natural foods take more energy to burn than they give you. (Other than grains and meats or anything canned)
BlueDragon1981 Posted August 2, 2002 Author Posted August 2, 2002 Genetics have a role in everything. I have found that it is much easier for people with a line of genetics to be thin to stay thin. Everything I have research shows me this. It can also be changed. If someone in a family of thin people do nothing they will stay thin until about the age of 25. Then if they sit around and do nothing and eat big amounts of food they can make themselves bigger which in turn gives there kids a %25 chance to be bigger. This also works in reverse. Someone who works out all the time to lose weight. (Lose it naturally by eating right and exercise) Even if they dont lose all that much and they stay healthy they can pass a %25 chance for their kids to be have more of a thirst to work out. So genetics can have a role. You can help them out though. Meat has much needed protien that helps your body heal when you work out. Meat offen times from grocery stores have water and air added to them. (good thing I get my beef right from the source, my uncle has a beef farm)
shaolinprincess Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 I have heard that your blood type affects what you should eat. Is this true? It's what you put into it...1st kyu-Okinawa Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito Federation
BlueDragon1981 Posted August 2, 2002 Author Posted August 2, 2002 Actually yes that is true. Im not sure what foods are for what blood type but it is true. They are getting more and more info that your blood type may effect you more than you know on your weight. Each Blood type has there do's and dont's but Im not sure yet on what they are. I will have to gain some info on this when I get the chance. (Heck KickChick probably knows. If she is on and knows please post.)
KickChick Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 ...I heard you! The "Blood Type diet" is based on the fact that people with same blood type (O, A, B, AB ) and same race (Asian, Caucasian, African, Native American, Australian) are very similar in the way how they tolerate different foods. There is also a 'special' diet (based upon the scientific theories outlined in the writings of Dr. Peter D'Adamo, New York Times best-selling author of Eat Right 4 Your Type) which more info can be found here! http://www.dadamo.com/ According to this plan, each of the four blood types has a very detailed list of foods that must be avoided, based on the premise that blood type has its own unique antigen marker that reacts in a negative way with certain foods. Also, individuals have varying levels of stomach acidity and digestive enzymes, and these traits seem to be correlated with blood type. Specific guidelines are given for foods, amounts and timing of meals. Weight loss will result from restricting your food intake. But his plan is unrealistic if members of one family have different blood types, causing them to each follow a completely different diet. Each plan unnecessarily eliminates specific groups of foods, which can result in nutrient deficiency. _________________ KarateForums Sensei 1st dan Tae Kwon Do (ITF) Cardio/Fitness Kickboxing Instr.
