Jack
Pushups do not only train your chest and triceps. They make use of your back, traps, hips, and legs too! JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
BlueDragon1981
Ya pushups work a lot of your body....I dont see pushups as discipline. They to me are benifiting my health. Most students hate them because they think they are being discipline by making them do something ( are we as a society really getting this lazy ) Did you know sitting in front of the computer and vidoe games helps your hand eye cordnation. The downfall is sitting in front of them to much. Hurts your eys and you dont get any physical benefits. It has also shown that stradegy vidoe games and RPGs have increased a persons ability to think quiker on their feet. So vidoe games arent all bad. They have a lot of non physical benefits. The problem is playing to much of them will make you fat because your not moving around and it causes stress on the eyes which in turn may cause headaches. ( 2 hours is probably the most you should spend at a time on a game )
KickChick
Oh I'll help you our BlueDragon .... I've got tons of usefuls little tip! Put your tongue on the roof of your mouth when doing crunches. It helps to align your head properly which helps reduce neck strain. Keep your weight workouts under 60 min ... after that your body starts producing more of a stress hormone 'cortisol; which can have a testosterone and muscle blocking effect. Martial_Artist
After a workout make sure that shower isn't a cold one. Your blood capillaries are expaned as well as every other blood transporting tissue and the sudden cold will cause them to constrict quite rapidly. Do so, in extreme cases can cause harm to the heart. I don't remember my source for this, but it was from a health magazine. MSG harms your nervous system. Aspartame is a toxin to the body, once ingested never leaves the system, no matter if you stop it is accumulative. The worst SIDE effect of Aspartme is death. Ti-Kwon-Leap
1.Your muscles are less flexible after you sleep. 2. Contrary to popular belief, "IronShirt" training will not allow you to deflect bullets. 3. You will burn more calories running from an attacking pomeranian than a cheetah. Oh yeah, attempting to supress a sneeze can cause an aneurysm, although the chances are slim. _________________ "It is not enough to aim, you must hit." -Italian Proverb [ This Message was edited by: Ti-Kwon-Leap on 2002-07-28 19:56 ] Ti-Kwon-Leap"Annoying the ignorant since 1961"
