Being afraid isn't unusual. Learning how to overcome being afraid is or isn't that easy; it depends on the person.

One way...SPAR! Spar everyday!

Presuming you mean sparring, if not, I would second Lupin's advice.

Maybe you'd do better sparring against someone who has more control/restraint. If your friend knocked you out by accident then you probably do have reason to be a bit apprehensive sparring them as control seems to be an issue. I would try to spar people who have more experience and better ability (in most cases higher grades) and you can slowly work towards being more comfortable and work on things at your own pace rather than having to worry about the contact. Hopefully they'll be able to work with you on what you did wrong (if anything) and show you what you could do to avoid it again. Start slowly and you'll eventually become much more confident.

Its all very well people telling you to just go out there and spar but its not going to help that much if you spend the whole thing worried about getting hit. A lot of people get anxious about sparring because of the contact factor and in most cases they just need to start off slow and build up confidence.

Welcome to the forums btw. :)

I agree, spar as much as possible as closely to a real fight as you can get. like riding a bicycle, the only way to learn how to ride is to actually ride one.

BTW, I think that the OP was IN a real fight. BUT, I'm only suggesting that as a way to lessen the fear factor of fighting, if/when it happens again, is to SPAR!!!!!!! It's not a guarantee because fear is siimply FUTURE EVENTS APPEARING REAL.

Hi Lastbelt, welcome to the forum. What style martial arts do you train in? Or if you do not, what style are you interested in?

Being afraid to fight is a perfectly natural reaction to what happened. You got KO'd and that'd not pleasant at all. If you want to tackle your fear I suggest finding a good Martial Arts teacher and explain how you feel and how you'd like to progress. A good teacher should understand and help you develop mentally as well as physically, and guide you through to finding confidence again.

You say you're bad in English, Lastbelt, but KO is fairly well understood as a knockout, and a TKO (technical knockout) only means you weren't unconscious, but hit practically that hard.

If this were an actual fight, this is not a friend and you should call the police. A KO is a serious matter and deserves pressing charges. When it occurred may mean something; in my home state, NJ, you have thirty days to file a complaint with the police.

If this were sparring and the KO was therefore unintentional, your friend lacks restraint. He either overreacted to a sparring situation as opposed to an actual fight, or he was showing off. Did he apologize? Did he bring you to a hospital to be checked out in case of a concussion?
