Jack Posted August 25, 2002 Posted August 25, 2002 I always eat something before bed, usually some peanut butter, cottage cheese, and milk - why? The Casein protein in these products digests slowly overnight to be used in repairing muscle tissue. Since when you sleep, most growing and growth hormone is released, I capitalise on this by eating some slow-digesting proteins. However, not that this is beneficial for bodybuilders but perhaps may not make a significant difference to a martial artist that doesnt partake in weight training. ad Posted August 29, 2002 Author Posted August 29, 2002 i thought of setting a new forum for this but i thought i might aswell keep it here, there have been alot of discussion on tv about the electronical instrument that you fit around your stomach do build up your abs, sound just like a gimic to give hopes and give money to the gullable overweight american crowd which will be answer to loosing weight rather than actually dieting or excercising. But will it actually show any definintion for a medium build slim person like myself?? Brown Sash Hsing I/Lau Gar Kung FuBrown Belt San Shou17 yr oldhttp://www.selfdefencehelp.co.uk

ZeRo Posted September 13, 2002 Posted September 13, 2002 how do you calculate your BMR? and your body/ fat ratio?
KickChick Posted September 13, 2002 Posted September 13, 2002 To accurately measure body fat you really do need to use the calliper method, but to get a rough estimate go here http://how-can-i-lose-weight.com/calculate-body-fat.html Also on this page there are so many informative links and tools to use .... including calculating your basal metabolic rate (BMR) http://how-can-i-lose-weight.com/index.html I know we had other threads on this here in this forum too.
