Guys and girls I have to admit it - I am definately in a mental slump. After my last test and submitting my chapter to a book project I took some time off. Then between having trouble with the heat, a nasty case of thrush, and sinus infections I seem to have lost a bit of motivation somewher.

Suggestions. :???:

Sai, listen to DR. Shoto......

TAKE A NICE VACATION!!! A week on a nice sunny beach with a margarita or 2 will work wonders

It will also give the ol body a chance to heal...

Definitely take a week off to relax, a lack of motivation can be a result of overtraining. Use the time off to analyse your thoughts and feelings and find out why you are in a slump. The answer is within yourself, just look for it.

1) Get well first

2) Set some new exciting goals

I agree with AnonymousOne , some exciting goals are needed for motivation.

If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point.

Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.

Sai fights, I am curios as to how yo train. I mean weight lifting, arobics, katas, sparring? What is MS? I know that is probably a stupid question. Does it hinder you much? :???:

Radok MS is multiple sclerosis a neuromuscular disease. I train katas and kihons, elliptical crosstraining aerobic machine, lift weights and work out with my wavemaster. My sparring partner just moved out of the state.

This happens to all of us. It is normal. It happened to me a few years ago. I actually took a little over a year off. I kept thinking about going back but put it off. Finally I went back one day and was totally hooked again. Take a little time off. Maybe even the rest of the summer then go back and you should be fine.
