August 26, 200917 yr Hi all,I would like to say that it was nice to find such comunity of martial artist and others interested in martial arts topics.I'm original from Cuba and moved to Alberta, Canada a few years back. I started practicing Joshin-mon Shoryn Ryu at the age of 9 with a VERY VERY demanding Sensei. At the age of 15 obtained the 1st Dan-Ho in my style (black Belt). After that I started in High School which was far away from my Dojo and unfortunatly quit practicing with the frequency I used to. Right now I want to start again. In the area where I live there aren't any Shoryn Ryu dojo, which sucks. I'm trying to find an Aikido Dojo to try and combine the fighting style, and eventually would like Judo as well. As an advice to everyone, do not fell for the MMA vs Pure Martial Artist thing, I personally think is a matter of how good of a fighter you are, and how smart you are.
