Be Happy You're Even Training!

Recommended Posts

This martial arts versus that martial arts have been debated for as long as I can remember. Nothing's ever solved, imho, with these types of discussions for one reason or another. Both sides of the fence are just as compassionate as the other, therefore, only argumentations can only ensue from these type(s) of conversations. The missing the forest for the trees seems to become prevalent with these type of arguments.

Conclusion...just be happy that you're even training in an effective martial arts at all!!!!

Your thoughts?!?

Blimey sensei8 your boardering on zen with this one.

A good friend of mine refers to his Karate training as his "white pyjama theropy" - meaning that no matter what sort of day he has had, he always feels better after training.

I think it was Funakoshi sensei who wrote when asked why he practiced Karate? .... "To get better??"

My bad! I wasn't trying to sound all Zen and that.

I was just getting a little tired of reading and hearing the argument of what's better and all of that.

Just shut up and train! I also like Funakoshi Sensei's answer to why he practiced Karate...to get better!

A cheeseburger is better! No, a hamburger is better! SHUT UP...just be happy you're even eating at all! I know...it's the preference thing...that's fine...but...eat the darn thing and let's just move on for the love of cheeseburger/hamburger lovers across the world over.

Just to be able to train is a privilege, and one that all experiencing it should be thankful for. :)

It is isn't it?... I Have been bogged down with work the last few weeks so haven't been able to train, so I can tell you that I envy everyone that has. So yep, don't take it for for granted I say.

I've been bogged down with injury this last few weeks, and I don't like how that is slowing down my training time, either. Also the older I get, the busier I get with other things, so for all of those that get to train 4 or 5 days per week, don't take it for granted!

As long as you feel you are getting what you need. Then it's the best style for you.

I been going through my apartment trying to figure out what to pack and get rid of. Trying to get a transfer to another system mainly to be closer to my daughter. So havent had much time to train like I was.

I'm looking forward to it if I get the transfer though. Went to the area I'll be at hopefully and looked around and didnt see much of a MA school so might be good opportunity for me to open a school.

This is so true!

I once had a friend who was like that. He trains in Aikido and i could never get a word in edgeways! His was always better! I have never thought this the case because i feel if the MA in question is suitable for that person then thats just fab!

And i totally agree that any training in such a privilaged art is brilliant! :D
