nacal Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Another thing that has helped me is as soon as you get out of the shower and begin to dry yourself with the towel, stand on one leg and close your eyes.Swap legs as you dry differant body parts, just make sure you have enough room and are in private.Doing this each time you have a shower will ensure your balance gets better because you'll be doing it at least once a day and you have to put in no extra effort.
sperki Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 There are some great exercises listed here. Somebody noted that balance was related to weak ankles; the two go hand in hand. Therapy for people that regularly sprain ankles (weak ankles) involves standing on one leg while moving the other one in various directions. It forces the small stabilizing muscles in the planted leg to flex to maintain balance. The stand on one leg and write the alphabet with the other is a great exercise. Do it while you brush your teeth or watch TV. Just make sure you work both legs equally.
