usc96
I'm doing kempo karate and depending on which class, we either jump right in, or start with stretching. Stretchingbasics (punching, blocks and kicks)split into groups based on rank for forms, combinations, weapons and kempos. Some classes end with sparing

crazyferret
For all styles: what is a typical class like for you in the style you train in ? I know every class might be different, but more or less, from start to finish....give an example. On an ordinary day, mine could go like this:Warm-upsDrillsForm practiceSelf Defense TechniquesSparringThe last three not necessarily in that order.Warm Up:2mins jump rope2mins shadowobxing - western boxing only2mins shadowboxing - muay thaiBoxing:Corner drill - 2-4 roundsCounterpunch drills - 2-4 roundsSparring - 2-4 rounds each pairClinch:Double legSecond moves from double leg takedown (sit out, back heel trip, etc.)Hand FightPummelHand Fight into PummelClinch striking:Muay thai Plum positionGrappling:Drill positional wrestling and submissionsSparring3 hours - that's what we've been doing lately. We don't usually work clinch takedowns and clinch striking on the same nights - usually one or the other. Shotokan-kez
We don't have a set routine really, it's different every time. Obviously start off with warm ups. Combinations, kata, sparring and sometimes we end classes with kumite. Good fun and hard work all round. Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
