Bushido58266 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 hey everybody, i was just looking for some suggestions on MMA training techniques and that. im new to MMA but not martial arts, ive trained for 8 years in karate and hold a black belt, i am an amateur kickboxer, i hold a blue belt in jujutsu, and i wrestled in school, so im pretty well rounded. there is a new gym that just opened up where i live called Western New York MMA. i want to attend but want some training in before i go! i was wondering if i should do anything special before i attend or just keep with my current karate and kickboxing training and go ASAP? tallgeese Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Sounds like you've got a good background for it already. Transition training and clinching might give you some fits, but it's shouldn't be a problem. I'd sayjust get going and enjoy the ride. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
bushido_man96 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I agree with tallgeese. Your training is probably ok now to get into it. Anything that needs cleaned up, they will probably help you with. I'd say go for it. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
