unknownstyle Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 has anyone been taught how to use the for kyusho? "Live life easy and peacefully, but when it is time to fight become ferocious."
ShawnMiller Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I use it for many different applications, including Kyusho. Practice makes permanent, not perfect.
Shotokan-kez Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I'm not sure i know what you mean. When i saw your post title i thought you meant Gedan Bari? Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
tallgeese Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I don't use one at all really in the traditional sense. If it's pressure point striking that kyusho refers to then I've seen downward hammerfist type motions with the forearms to various nerve clusters but I'm not sure I'd call it a block. Then again, that's not my area of expertise. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
unknownstyle Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 i did mean in that sense as well, but using the chamber alone is has amazing applications as far as kyusho goes. "Live life easy and peacefully, but when it is time to fight become ferocious."

bushido_man96 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I use a downward block at times in sparring, when kicks tend to get to the lower abdomen level. It could also have a use of striking the groin with a hammerfist. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
ShawnMiller Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 The video is a fair example on a very basic level. Their is truly so much more. Which is what I meant on the post about favorite Kata's, how many people use the Kata and the techniques in them? Practice makes permanent, not perfect.
tallgeese Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Not a kata guy myself. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
