tsdprime93 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I was wondering if anyone might have some input into whether it would be better to go to a full scale gym or to a small scale fitness club for this situation.I am trying to improve my stamina as well as my core muscles. I also would like to work on my range of flexibility. I am really aiming for some USAT gold and want a strict regime and intense training. Should I get a private trainer ($$) or just follow a set schedule? Thankyou! Going For Gold St. Petersburgh '10"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position"- Ed Parker
bushido_man96 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I think looking into getting a trainer may be what you want. They are usually pretty good about assesing your goals and helping to reach them. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

bushido_man96 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Try the full scale gym. They may have some interns that are physical trainers in class, or something like that. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
tsdprime93 Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Okay, I will try that; perhaps a YMCA? Going For Gold St. Petersburgh '10"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position"- Ed Parker
bushido_man96 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 You may find something there. Are there any gyms in your area that are devoted to weight training? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

Are there any gyms in your area that are devoted to weight training? Not that I can find, I only checked yellow pages, but I will look a little further. I did email the fitness trainer at the Y, but I am still awaiting an answer. Going For Gold St. Petersburgh '10"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position"- Ed Parker
nanook660 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 My Karate Class is held at the YMCA so I have access to the gym, pool, and other classes as well. I try to go to the gym twice a week on the off days when I am not doing Karate. It does help. The only difference between the possible and the impossible is one's will. - Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei -

But I sent an email to the fitness director and am still awaiting an answer from her. Hopefulley she will return the email.
