Lachrymosa
Yesterday I was laying down on the couch with my right arm behind my neck and when I took a deep inspiration I felt an internal tear in my abdomen about 1 inch below the sternum. I felt no pain when it tear which I find strange. Today I do not really feel any pain in the area, at most a little warm feeling over the area. I do not see any bruises over the area either.Should I just stay low for a while and stop training or it is nothing important?

I felt no pain when it tear which I find strange. I was going through older postings, Lachrymosa, and saw this post with no follow-up. What happened with it? Was it a pulled muscle, or more? I'm asking, in that you mention a tear, but felt no pain, which reminds me of both my sister and aunt, each of whom found out that they had a hiatus hernia right where you're describing. Lots of people do and don't even realize it. A true muscle tear would be very painful and very discoloring of the area, so I wondered what it was. ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
Lachrymosa
I was a bit sore in that area for about 2 weeks. I stopped training at home during that time. I was still going to my karate classes but I was not pushing it.I do not really know what happened but it seems everything is back to normal. I checked hiatus hernia on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiatus_hernia) and I do not and did not experience any gastric reflux or other symptoms. The next time I will go see my doctor I will talk to him about it.
