DWx Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Whats your favourite form/kata/hyung/whatever to perfom? Whats your favourite one to watch? My favourite one to do at the moment is Choong Jang (from the Korean Chang Hon set) but I really like Juche, I just can't do it very well. I don't really know that many forms outside of Korean sets but I also like seeing Bassai Dai done well. Edited June 8, 2008 by DWx "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
ps1 Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 My favorite to perform is the sleeping monkey form Poekoelan Chuan Fa. Mainly because it's unique to that system.I also love to perform and watch Unsu from Karate. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
Zanshin Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Pinan Nidan.Just great. "The difference between the possible and impossible is one's will""saya no uchi de katsu" - Victory in the scabbbard of the sword. (One must obtain victory while the sword is undrawn).https://www.art-of-budo.com
NewEnglands_KyoSa Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Out of my Tang Soo Do system...my favorite to watch has to be the sword form...jang Gum Hyung and Kong Sang Koon representing the air the universe and beyond...which says all it needs to. My favorite to do would have to be Jin Do.My favorite to watch in my kempo system is Shodanqua...way or path of the black belt. "Smile. Show everyone that today you're stronger than you were yesterday."

NievesOSK Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Watch: Sandairyu from Uechi-RyuPerform: I actually enjoy Tensho/Rukusho. It's really a dynamic form and my body feels good after doing a few iterations. In tournament, probably Chinto or Kusanku. Kanshu from Uechi Ryu gets honorable mention as well.Osu.
Shotokan-kez Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I love performing Nijushiho, just really getting into it. I love the slow and fast movements of the kata. I like to watch Chinte, one of our instructors does it really well! Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
ninjanurse Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 At the moment I am favoring Taegeuk Chil Jang both in performance and teaching. The concepts and subtleties are challenging both to student and teacher!
