pegasi
I'm 12 weeks out from knee surgery, and I still can't do any sort of crouching moves. I can't do the crouch/double uppercut move in taegeuk chil-jang, and it's frustrating. That's in the last form I tested, and I know I'll be seeing it again. I'm wanting to go back to classes, but I'm told to wait. Grrr... soo frustrtating! anyone else had a long recovery before they could return to classes after knee surgery? what goes around, comes around
bushido_man96
That's a bummer, man. Just tough it out, as hard as it is. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
ninjanurse
I have had three so far...the last one almost 1 year ago. I still have pain when I do certain things but that may be the nature of my injury not yours. I suggest following your doctors advice about when to return to training, ice-ice-ice every day after any activity that stresses the knee, and be patient! white owl
I know it is hard but I would listen to your Dr. and take it slow you do not want to go through surgery again and then you are off that much longer. do little things at home working your forms (Slowly) maybe some shadow boxing but the main thing is listen to body. I kow at my dojo our sensei will let us watch class if your out do to injury or health. it is hard watching because you want to be in their but at least you know what is going on. KarateK
Ha ha I know a thing or two about long waits after knee ops, had a major one in October of last year and am just now getting back to the warm up stage (although not supposed to)... Definitely a good idea to keep going to watch, keep your finger in the pie so to speak, its extremely hard but you have to follow your docs advice... Mainly your physio too, Im lucky mine has been very understanding of my need to get back to karate so taylors my recovery around that partly. Talk to your physio and get as much advice as poss x Karate Ni Sentinashi
