Athena Posted February 26, 2008 Share Posted February 26, 2008 I was wondering if any of you think this would be ok...I play a long list of amusic and for each song, I choose a random exercise and stick with that for the whole song.. you know it could be likesong 1 - small arm circlessong 2- big arm circlessong 3- cat and cow yoga posessong 4 - sit upssong 5 - push upssong 6- round house kicksong 7- air punchingsong 8- punching bagI do this 2- 3 times a wekk and it would change every day ? Strike first. 'Til then i will not fight you. Everytime someone calls JKD a style, Bruce turns over.Why do I love Bruce Lee? Not because he was an awesome martial artist- but because his train of thought overlapped with mine even before I knew about him. Jay Posted February 26, 2008 Share Posted February 26, 2008 You can do that kind of like a circuit but you should put in some different exercises as the ones that you have to me are slightly boring and I would get fed up.Things such as small arm circles and yogo posses dont really improve your fitness all that much and as this is what you have stated in your post I figure that you basically want to improve your cv system.In order to do that you should try something like thisSong 1-Bag Punching all variations work on combinationsRest 30 secsSong 2-Skipping try different footworkRest 30secsSong 3-Bag again all kicking, kick combinationsRest 30Song 4-Skipping etc etc This will improve your fitness no end and of course you can add some other exercises in instead such as running and then sprinting accoring to different parts of the song or whatever. You want to make sure things fit because you could end up with circling your arms for 3 mins and then bag work for 7 mins..Jay's suggestions are good. I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can.
