Hello everyone, I was learning TKD years ago and had to give up the classes because of work. I am looking for equipment for my basement to get back into it slowly, but am not sure what to get. I was thinking about a free standing heavy bag, but I also want to practice (axe kicks, and other spinning kicks) and though a heavy bag wouldn't be enough. Does anyone have some suggestions on a home solution so I can keep practicing.

I was thinking about a free standing speed bag/heavy bag set which would give me the heavy bag for some kicks and a speed back for others. Anyone have any suggestions?

The heavy bag is a good idea. Also you will need the room if you plan on doing kata's.

The enviroment is very important also , you need to make it look like a dojo. Apart from that you might want to get a friend over to help you somtimes with your training.

I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can.
