So how hard to we want to make our knuckles? Or do we want to put more emphasis on learning to use techniques like a palm heel strike to an opponents face instead of a knuckle punch.

You don't need to condition your knuckles to throw a punch, it makes no difference to the power of the punch if your knuckles aren't conditioned in fact.

(Anyways, hey Shotochem, looking at the flip side of your last statement: Some would rather condition their hands so they aren't broken and damaged for life with one punch. )

Hey Sing, what I meant to say is that since we train regularly we should not need additional methods of an extreme nature to condition our hands and feet. I also do not believe in additional banging shins and forearms to condition them either.

There is plenty of banging already.... :brow:

(Ive got the bruises to prove it!!!)

Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.

I would prefer to loose a bit of skin from my knuckles, than develop arthritis and ruin my two finger speed typing skills. :bawling:

KickChick do you have board and tile breaking requirements at your next grading?
