Being able to get out of bed every morning would be good!

Good one. I agree with that after sunday LOL. Anyways, I wanna get my flexiblilty back, and to get into MA again period. Heidi, any ideas (minus KWC)?

I also want to get my BB. I've (or ... was) training for 7 years. Never got it. BUT I want a group of people that are special to me to test me. One is a 5th dan, one is a 3rd dan, and one is a 2nd dan. Two different styles to boot. That would be ... um hell .... but fun. Hopefully by next year.

My goal actually is to tone up a bit. Im not overweight, but feel that if I can develop more muscle, than my power will improve. I have a total gym, I just need fit it into my schedule and use it. I also hope to test for my sandan grade. I have been at nidan for quite some time now. I think this is actually the first time that I can actually say that I feel ready to test. Of course this goal is completely based on my instructors opinion of my readiness. I may want to test, but he may not feel I am ready. I never question him about my rank, so when it happens, it happens.

Live life, train hard, but laugh often.

My goal for 2008 is to drop my weight, and get back into martial arts. I went to my original Dojo in Logan Ohio wed. night, had a great time :) . Then two days later I get an e-mail from my Sensei letting me kow that he is closing the Dojo  . We are going to work out together every so often, but he needs to close the dojo to spend time with his family.

Wow, that is a bummer. Hopefully, you can maintain your training, or find a place that suits your needs. Welcome to the Forums! :karate:

I really enjoyed reading this thread.

Every January for the past few years now I have spent time:

evaluating where I'm at with my MA training,

how my last year of training has affected that?

where do I now want to go with my MA training over this coming year?

and how can I achieve that?

I have found it extremely effective in the setting of long-term goals within my personal MA training.

For 2008-

I wish to build a little bit more core-strength, including a bit more definition.

I would also like to increase my kicking flexibility more (have been watching Won Jin), as well as increase my gymnastic ability.

I would like to focus more on traditional aspects of Karate, as opposed to the sporting aspects I have exposed myspef to over the course of 2007.

Kudos for starting the thread.
