i was wondering wats the best way to practice on a day to day basis ( wen not at actual martial arts classes) i have a tendancy to overdo it and end up hurting or being tired all week. do most of u guys jus practice ur combos, or jus do the basics over and over or wat.

you must learn different combinations of techniques down to your very soul and they must come without thinking when you finish with one technique, you must immediately go into another until you have attained your goal which is to destroy the enemy.

It really depends on what your focus for your workout is, or what you want it to be. If you have few hard classes at the school during the week, then you may want to take some slower days at home, to work on technique, or forms, or whatever. You can get some good solo workouts in, and only spend around 20 to 30 minutes at a time on them. You can control the pace, and get a good workout, but still have time to recover, and not be so tired all of the time.

I usually practice whatever we have been working on in class. I also reveiw things we haven't gone over in a while, to make sure (or at least try to make sure) I am still sharp and don't have to relearn or redevelop what I already know.
