Now, I was searching through youtube looking for videos of the drunken fists style, (I don't know the chines name for any martial art forms) and I came upon this person who supposedly uses chi or energy to knock people out. I am not quite sure if its a fake technique or not, but it was interesting to see his students being affected by his, "Death Touch"

So, what do you guys think about this? Do you think its fake and that his students are just acting? Or do you believe that this is an actual technique?

(Sorry if I asked in the wrong board, I am new to martial arts and don't know where certain things go sorry. )

{EDIT} Here is the link to the video I found.

unlress they had an IQ of a napkin i don't think they would offer free lessons for doubters and challenge people to come and get knocked out if they didn'yt beleive it themselves.

Strike first. 'Til then i will not fight you.

Why do I love Bruce Lee? Not because he was an awesome martial artist- but because his train of thought overlapped with mine even before I knew about him.

Thank you karate forums, for introducing me to Bruce Lee

Ya, I think that it is fake, but there is that teeny tiny chance that it is real. I doubt that its real, but you never know right?

As it is presented in many videos... No. There is no such thing as knocking a person out without touching them.

But a person can certainly be physically struck in any number of places and will be knocked out.

I've yet to see it work on anyone who was not 'willing' to let it work on them, and as such I have to dismiss it as a psychological phenomena. The concept of Dim Mak itself seems a bit shifty to me- as far as I can tell it seems that such techniques have never really been a traditional part of CMA, which would make them a more or less something drawn from bits and pieces of traditional Chinese medicine and taoism sprinkled with the vague concept of chi.

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Someone once posted that the idea behind the Dim Mak came from a technique that someone performed to just the right spot on an opponent, and the technique was so powerful that it may have caused internal bleeding, or burst a spleen, or something of the sort, that long ago there would have been nothing that could be done about it. So, the victim would naturally end up dying, and then it would be shrouded in mystery. Today, if some gets a spleen ruptured, you can go get it taken care of, and the result is living instead of dying.

To whoever pointed that out, I think it is viable, and agree with it. I don't want to take the credit, though!

there would be a LOT more people doing that around the world IF it was true.

As his pressure point fighting goes- the guy can break a lot of bricks put together- any angle he hits me from is going to send a great shock through me even if he misses a nerve.
