The BB of C Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I think the most impratical weapon is the chain whip.

ashworth Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 if fighting against another weapon... a knuckle duster... don't see that being effective if the other dude has a sword of any other weapon... Ashley AldworthTrain together, Learn together, Succeed together...
cross Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 So what's your least favorite (in practical terms) weapon? Discuss.Any weapon that isnt found in everyday situations, or carried by the majority of armed criminals. The reason why bo, tonfa, nunchaku, sai etc worked well, in the time and country they were used, was because they were found in everyday situations. The reason why swords worked well, in the time and country they were used, was because they were carried by the majority of armed criminals.Today, the threats have changed, and the weapons you are likely to find in everyday life have changed.
armanox Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 if fighting against another weapon... a knuckle duster... don't see that being effective if the other dude has a sword of any other weapon...Hit the sword first perhaps? bushido_man96 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 if fighting against another weapon... a knuckle duster... don't see that being effective if the other dude has a sword of any other weapon...Hit the sword first perhaps? That probably wouldn't accomplish much. Especially if the weilder is skilled. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
harleyt26 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 If by knuckle duster are you referring to Tekko?I was taught that the original version was two horse shoes fastened together at the sides so that they point opposite directions. They probably would still not be very effective against a skilled swordsman but they would offer more protection and better techniques against a sword than the more modern version.Tom Hodges migi kamae, migi bo kihon ichi
bushido_man96 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 That is true. That sounds like an interesting device. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Sasori_Te Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I would think the most impractical weapon would be one that I'm not trained in properly. A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
a_ninja Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 well i would not want to take in a three pronged staff because it is to able to work back and hit you, its hard to use, and easy to grab the best fight is one that doesnt happen
