It could be any number of things, the wrist area is an increadibly complex set of joints. And the solution could be from the very simple up to and including surgery. Hard to tell without specifics.

Bottom line, if it's affecting your activities of daily living, get it checked out. Preferably by an orthopedic surgon. Then go from there.
