Aces Red Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 A couple of weeks ago I was at a ward and they made had us do some yoga. Being the showoffy impress the ladies type that I am, I placed myself in some odd position to the point were I heard a loud SNAP in my knee. Now let me tell ya it didn't tickle one bit. I was sore my whole time being there and until I got to the dojo to get my nerves reset, I couldn't walk without a sharp pain in the location previously mentioned. When I go to walk up the stairs to the computer room it hurts a just little, but I can't do some exercises within the dojo anymore, because of intense pain. So I was wondering what are some exercises to help me with getting rid of this injury? Nothing is broken or dislocated it just hurts. Daisho Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 the snapping sound worries me. plz take my advice on this and see a professional. the knee is an amazing joint of the human body, and any injury at all that effects it is best to be checked out.even in the event it's just a hypersxtended ligament/tendon, it can have major ramifications with neglected care.I would say this to anyone with questions of joint pain GET IT CHECKED!!! a pulled muscle is a pulled muscle, and a broken bone will heal (whether optimally or not), but joints can have a serious impact on your quality of life.
marie curie Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Yeh, I've studied bioengineering for years and there are some angles at which it takes very little pressure to actually damage (not just hurt) your knee.Though I should have been smarter, when I hurt my knee two years ago I didn't see someone for like 10 months and I paid for it. Torn this or that can easily be fixed with many out-patient surgeries, and careful rehab by someone with a degree in it is usually the best bet for exercises to aid in the healing process. bushido_man96 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 As stated above, get it checked out. Cease your training until you know what the score is. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Lazarush Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 As stated above, get it checked out. Cease your training until you know what the score is.Yeah. Go see a doctor, before you continue your training.
bigscottius Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Yeah, see a doc. It could be cartlidge, which wouldn't be too big of a deal. It could be a sprain, or it could be a ligament tear, that would be bad. If you don't require surgery (knock on wood) your doc will probably strengthen the muscles in your leg to better support your joint. I've seen all the knee injuries in the book, and, because of the complecated design of that major join, only a doctor can tell what really is going on. If you can walk up and down stairs, that is a good thing though, but definetly see a doc. If it is like an ACL/MCL tear, then walking a straight line won't be a big deal, it would be if you put pressure on the side impact, like cutting or pivoting. So, long story short, see a doc. If the injury didn't immediately incapacitate you, and you were able to walk, and if you didn't injure it in a high risk manuever, it probably won't be as bad as I said, but tweaking your knee can cause unseen damage. SEE A DOCTOR LIKE EVERYONE SAID LOL, it will probably be best. Do not demand what you can not take by force.
