Eye of the Tiger Posted June 2, 2002 Posted June 2, 2002 I have bought a book on plyometrics but it doesn't include any martial art in the sports specific section. Could any one tell me the best plyometric exercises for martial arts preferably karate and kickboxing or a sport that you think is similar to it so I could use that specific plyometric exercises in the sports srecific section.
Withers M.A.A. Posted June 2, 2002 Posted June 2, 2002 Well most of the drills in plyometrics will help with your Martial ARts training. Plyometrics build your fast twitch muscle fibers and those are what you need to build in order to be able to train your body to get your leg off the ground for either a kick or a jump. I do a lot of the jumping drills to add height to my jumps and explosiveness.
