Aces Red Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 What are some exercise, besides pushups or weight which would increase arm strength? The reson I am asking this is: I can't do 2 normal pushups and I mean this literally. Usually after the second one I just automatically get up even though I don't want to. If I were to use weights their would be no space for these weights simply because there is little room in the house I live in, because of the small rooms and large amounts of furniture. I have no garage. If someone could recommend an easy pushups for a weak person that would be super. I’ve tried Hindu Pushups and they seem to be working somewhat well, but I don’t think I’m doing this typeof pushup the right way. My younger brother seemed to have dropped most of his weight and turned it into muscle in record time, but he has access to weights, while I don’t. (And no I don’tlive with my bro’) He told me that a drop pushup should be easy for me to do, but I need when performing them I need to stop letting my knees strike the ground first coming down.So any help would be appreciated. danbong Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 If it is too dificult to do "normal" pushups, do them on your knees instead of your toes. Also, do several sets of pushups. So even if you can only do say 5 pushups, if you did 3 sets, you would have done 15 ppushups in one day. Also remember to do back and abdominal exercises too. ichi-go ichi-e 一期一会one encounter, one chance

Try from your knees until you build up some more strength. Also, set yourself goals, pick a number that is not to easy for you, but is still obtainable. Even if you dont reach the number the first time, keep trying each day or so until you get it, then continue to build from there.
NightOwl Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I used to not be able to at all (or do pull ups/ chinups). It took some weight lifting for me to build up to that. I know you mentioned that you don't have any, but if there is a rec. center gym with weights you can use I'd highly recommend it. DWx Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Push ups against a wall could build you up. Depending on what angle you go at to the wall, you'll get more or less weight. Then gradually work down until you can do normal push ups horizontally. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
bushido_man96 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Knee push-ups, like the others mentioned, will get you started. You could also by some dumbells. They don't take up much space, and you can get light ones to start with, and then get heavier ones as you get stronger. You could do some arm curls and triceps extensions/kickbacks with those, to get some muscle into your arms. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
