Mtal Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Has anyone tried the Strength Training Gyro Exerciser? Is is some kind of gadget. It is in the shape of a ball, you put this pull cord in it, pull it out to make it start the inside moving, and then you hold it, and it supposed to help your grip get stronger. Ok it sounds to good to be true, but just wondering. Thanks. Jay Johnson
nine_weapons Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 the motion of these it what helps the grip... it is really awkward feeling. They are cool, but you can improve your grip without spending money on these. bushido_man96 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Loren W. Christensen's book Solo Training 2 has some good exercises in it on strengthening your grip. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
KNOCKuOUT Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 What are some of the best ways to improve grip?
bushido_man96 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 One that I liked was holding to barbell plates together for a specified period of time. He also had an exercise where he drilled a hole in a baseball, put string through it, and hung a weight on the end, and would hold and swing it. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
TigerDude Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 hung a weight on the end, and would hold and swing it. That sounds like an accident waiting to happen! You better have a strong string! If you think only of hitting, springing, striking or touching the enemy, you will not be able actually to cut him. You must thoroughly research this. - Musashi
bushido_man96 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 hung a weight on the end, and would hold and swing it. That sounds like an accident waiting to happen! You better have a strong string! You don't swing it violently. It is more of a swaying motion, back and forth at 45 degrees each way. Sorry, I should have clarified that better. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
