nine_weapons Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 haven't read this whole thread yet, but shockdocktor makes some awesome mouthguards. Brainpad is decent, but I couldn't always get them to fit right. you can custom fit most mouthguards these days, but if that absolutely doesn't work for you, talk to your dentist about getting one made. danbong Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 If it makes you gag, then it is not fitted properly. ichi-go ichi-e 一期一会one encounter, one chance
DWx Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 If it makes you gag, then it is not fitted properly. My moudled one by the dentist still makes me gag. I guess its just the feeling of having something like that in my mouth... "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius

A_Train Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I few people at our club complain of the gagging.I've never felt that. Ive got one that covers the top and bottom teeth, which make it hard as hell to breathe.I intend to ask about a dentist made one at my next appointment. I play a wrestling game online. If you'd like to play follow this linkhttp://www.thewrestlinggame.com/wg.asp?w= 133896
nanook660 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Mine is "Shock Doctor" Place it in hot water, then on your teeth, then dunk it in Cold water.I too have your problem and my Mouth guard does fit.My Sensei told us that we can also go to the Dentist and have one made. But they do cost more doing that way. The only difference between the possible and the impossible is one's will. - Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei -
IcemanSK Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 After many years of wearing a lot difference kinds, I had my dentist make one for me. The comfort factor alone is worth every penny! Being a good fighter is One thing. Being a good person is Everything. Kevin "Superkick" McClinton
white owl Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I also had problems with the ones that you heat up. Couldn't get the damn things to set exactly around my teeth.Hehe, my first one was so badly mangled, it looked like a piece of badly melted plastic. The first one I did came with my gear, It was a spoon full of goo. Then I got another one, it makes me gag and drool really bad.
the beast Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 My mouth piece makes me gag also. Sparring in class I just dont wear it even though I should, I tend to only wear it in tournaments wear its required. Semper Fi , Dave
