ramymensa Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 we have to take into consideration it's kinda cold in Russia, especially in Siberia And they love drinking. Gee they are so thirsty World Shotokan Karate
ZR440 Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 It's a cultural thing. When they go visit a grave site of a fallen comrade, they salute him with vodka. When they conduct business, they start with vodka. I actually had the pleasure of receiving a bottle of Ukrainian vodka from one of our business associates this past winter. It was a honey/hot pepper blend (even had a few peppers in the bottle). Wow, what a warmer-upper. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
Drunken Monkey Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 i had the pleasure sitting on a russian train, in the lower class carriage from moscow to a little village called vologda. the journey lasts about 8 hrs and everyone was drinking for the whole journey. even the guards were getting noticably quieter as the journey drew on. interesting trip. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
GrrrArg Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 When I was over there we decided you cant go to Russia and not try Russian vodka (especially since the drinking age is 16 over there) - damn that was some strong vodka, stronger than any I had had at home. Made for some laughs though when I saw my friend trying to dry his hands in the toilets-with a condom machine.. Anyhow, VPutin is ex KGB-don't know if he was a field agent or what but still you would expect a bit of combat training from that kind of background.
major_motoko Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 Hey check these pictures out! Putin takes a beatin' http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/911383.stm That girl looks good. 2nd Kyu Brown Belt, Wado Ryu Karate-do"Daniel-san best karate still inside!" Mr Myagi
Placid Lunacy Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 Judo is very popular in Russia, especially because of the similarity with Sambo. He actually has a book on Judo coming out (not sure exactly when). I also read his sensei said he was good enough in his prime (20s) to be on the Olympic team, had he decided to try out. GrrrArg Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 LOL good pics, they actually made it on TV over here. Must have been a slow news day.
Darce Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 Finland is close to Russia, therefore I cannot laugh, if our dear Putin heard it we would probably end up invaded. Shukokai Karate, Orange belt ( 7. kyu)
