koreantiger81 Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 I'm practicing my board breaks for my upcoming 2nd dan black-belt test. I'm going to do a 3 board break in the air. (I'll break the first board with a right front kick, i'll break the 2nd board with a left twisting kick, and the 3rd board with a right sidekick.) I need to get more air to fully get the twist on the twisting kick..Any suggestions? what kind of exercises will increase my vertical? Can anyone direct me to a web page? SaiFightsMS Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 I moved this from general martial arts. There are a few other threads here about jumping and plyometrics. http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=2016&forum=19&6 http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=568&forum=19&15 _________________ Shotokan Karate, bo, sai Karate means a better life [ This Message was edited by: SaiFightsMS on 2002-05-24 19:10 ] [ This Message was edited by: SaiFightsMS on 2002-05-24 19:12 ]

three60roundhouse Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 That's some break, tiger! I liked some of blade's excercises. How old are you? Perhaps you could work out with a high school track's high jump squad. 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
rabid hamster Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 tiger, when you work on plyometrics I suggest wearing good shoes and practicing it somewhere soft like on mats or grass.. and not cement. plyometrics can stress your ankle and knee joints. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
