learning kempo-karate Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hello, All of us get sore muscles from not using them. It will take a few days for it to heal.Best thing is rest. As time goes on...keep doing those excerise that hurt your legs...each time it will be better than before. This is common for beginners and guys who never push themselvesl before.Mortain is good for injuries and sore muscles...........Aloha
lordtariel Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Take some ibuprofin and use heat on the sore muscles. Some gentle stretching can help out as well. I can totally sympathize with you though, I was the same way when I started Karate. It'll get better. There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Many people feel this way when starting their martial arts training; even athletes. It passes as your body adapts to the training. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
tekki Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Be sure to drink a lot of water and stretch. Also, try eating bananas. They have potassium, which serves to break down he lactic acid your leg muscles are producing, which is what is causing the soreness.I can relate to what you're talking about. I played a lot of sports as a kid and in my teens, but the sorest day of my life was the morning after my first karate class. Keep it up, and in a short time, you will find that your hapkido training will transform your body. "Karate is a form of martial arts in which people who have had years and years of training can, using only their hands and feet, make some of the worst movies in the history of the world"-Dave Barry
