Stretch when you can between dojo activities, like when someone is explaining something. Keep that body loose and warm.

Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.

when doing most kicks lean your upper body into the kick, it will help you keep your balance and give more power to your kick. Leaning away will make you kick higher but without much power. :karate:

"All your life you are told the things you cannot do. They will say you're not good enough, strong enough or talented enough; you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. ………..….

“AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES."

Take the Advil BEFORE you feel the previous night's lesson kick in....

I second that! I take 800 mg of Vitamin M when I wake up the next morning.

(Vitamin M = Motrin)

If you're doing a belt test or competing... make sure you go to the bathroom before you start because invariably you will have to go later and then be kicked repeatedly in the groin.(That's the last time I'm late for a belt test)

One tip my instructor keeps saying is to relax, tensed muscles and limbs don't move as well as relaxed ones

Hello, This is one of the best advice to give and hard to practice it.

Most of us will get the adrenline feeling when we start...once we get started....we become more forcus, and a little more relax.

Being in the relax state helps you perform better, and you will also be last tired, (once the body tense up..you will burn more energy.)

A relaxed person also moves faster?

Like going to the toilet....once relax...things move better!

For alot people...movements or keeping moving is better than

standing still. Learn to move side ways and at angles (forward and backwards).

The best : always practice harder than the most of us. The more effort into the training....the better the results will be for you!

Just one more push-up...one more sit-up...just one more time...everyday!

The best athletic's usually train harder than anyone else...their belief in there abilities are LARGE. They know there are the best...and will train more often...an practice alot harder than anyone else.

PS: YOU HAVE TO BELEIVE IN Y0URSELF FIRST! Everyone can improve themselves ....unless you do not like yourself?
