It's a front round off that as soon as you land the round off, you jump into a back flip with a single kick (or as I've heard it called, a flash kick).

I can see it, I can feel it, I can do it!

It really isn't once you see it. It's just hard to explain. If you break it down it's only 2 moves that are combined into a chain. I'll see if I can find a video to show what I mean. :)

In gymnastics and tricking, the flashkick is a type of backtuck or backflip.

There are many flashkick variants with many names. The most defining feature of this move is the fact that the leg(s) are not tucked in while flipping. Normally only one leg sticking out is required to be categorized as a flash kick, but both can be untucked as long as they are split in the direction of the flip. Many consider landing on a single leg first followed by the other leg to be a criteria of a flash kick as well. This move can be executed from either a roundoff or from standing. Going into it from a roundoff will provide the performer with more momentum and thus more height and speed.

No worries. :)

I'm the only one currently at my Dojang that can do a back flip and land it every time. There are a couple guys that are trying and getting close now after seeing me do it and I know they'll have it soon enough. Because they are all trying to catch up to me I have to continuously add more to it so I can keep a head of them. :D

It's all fun and we love to push each other to get better and learn new techniques. They encourage me as much as I encourage them. It's a great atmosphere at our Dojang.

The best way I found to learn and get comfortable with the feeling was to find a gymnastics gym and go there on their open gym days. If they have a foam pit then you're golden. I learned into a foam pit first just so I could get comfortable with the feeling and make sure I had the mechanics of it down first. Then I graduated to a trampoline, then to a trampoline floor, then a spring floor, then finally to solid ground. Basically I kept moving to things that wouldn't toss me as high in the air and got comfortable on them then moved on from there. After you have the feeling and can do it on solid ground then I would suggest trying to add variations to your flip but only after you have the fundamentals down good (kind of like in martial arts ;))

I was able to do front flips before I could backflip and the funny thing is, after I learned to backflip, I lost the ability to do my front flips. It took a bunch of practice to get it back but now they're both going well.

Welcome to the forums! Would you do such a flip in a fight or match? And how did your test go?
