GATES Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 ok so i want to be able to do these i cant quite do them i try but i lose form then fall so i want some advice on how to get that little bit stronger so i can do them.thanks for the help Train hard fight easy.
Jeet Kune Do Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 start off with push-ups, do lots everyday and it will warm you up for 1 arm push ups,Currently I can do 60 push ups and only 5 or 6 one arm push ups, but I can do 10 hand stand push ups A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
ramymensa Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I think that you need to be able to do normal pushups and have enough strength. Then the one handed pushups would be easier, as Jeet Kune Do already said. And it's a matter of balance too, but I think that you'll discover what's the best position for your hand and then be able to do the pushup World Shotokan Karate
bushido_man96 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I would like to be able to do these as well, but right now, I am focusing on regular push-ups, with a few variations. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
granmasterchen Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 as everyone else has said, the one piece of advice that i have to give is to make sure that you have a wide open base with your legs and feet....that makes a big difference. That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
Jay Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I can only move down and i dont have the strength to get back up. I imagine it would be easier if you had your hand in the center of your body where it is strong and can support you whole upper body rather than the left or right side. The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
TheUSPS Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 or watch GI JANE and say damm... If she can do it so can i.
Rainbow_Warrior Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I watched too many movies of Rocky , and I would like to do those too....I can´t do one handed . I bench press more than 260 pounds , and can do tons of regular push ups ( once I did 105 at higschool) .... I don´t know why I cannnnnnnnn´´tAny way....those push ups are for show ... But I love them. ´´ The evil may win a round , but not the fight ´´
baronbvp Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Can someone please explain to me the value of the one-armed pushup, other than looking like Jack Palance at the Oscars? Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.
bushido_man96 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Can someone please explain to me the value of the one-armed pushup, other than looking like Jack Palance at the Oscars?Um, it is a great display of strength, and works different muscles than regular push-ups?I like the display of strength part, myself! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
