20 mins of as many rounds as possible of:

15 pull ups

15 push ups

15 back extensions

15 roman chair type set ups

short leg day with the weights

Today-

6, 2 min rounds of mitts. Starting combo, defenive work, to tie up and knees

3, 2 min rounds of sparring, foucs on the work we just did on the mitts.

25 min heavy instructinal block (new people) on escaping the mount. Bumps, shrimps, and alternating between the two. Chaining the two as well.

2, 2 min rounds limited engagement rolling. escaping mount.

3, 2 min rounds of free sparring, mma focus

Defensive Tactics: 8:45 - 10:30. It was good to get back into this. We worked on outside armwraps for the most part, which is going to be what we cover a lot of in the next session he is teaching to the PD this week. I really liked what we went over, and I think that it would be good stuff for our jail staff to learn as well.

Chest/triceps

Bench press: 155x10, 185x10, 205x5

Triceps push-downs: 105x10, 120x8, 6

Legs

Leg press: 320x15x3

Leg extensions: 95x15x3

Leg curls: 160x15x3

Abs

Cable crunches: 90x15, 105x15, 15

Cable trunk twists: 70x10x3

12-9-08

Floor side kicks: 3x10 each side

Doggy side kicks: 2x10 each side

mitt work 9, 2 min rounds of:

-jab out of crash, sprawl v. shot

-kick, jab out of crash, sprawl, combo

-mitt and second man, combos to mitt, defend committed takedown from second man, combo again to mitts.

6, 2 min rounds of sparring, mma - heavy contact

Now, I've got to clear my head of the cobwebs and try to get my nose back on straight :) .

Class tonight with my sons.

I was permitted to do the warm-up with them, then the boys took turns between our instructor and me, doing self-defense against strangers (ear slaps, palmheels to the nose, and tonight elbows to the face were added), defense against wrist grabs, and Pyung Ahn Cho Dan.

In recognition, they received a green stripe to add to their two orange stripes, so we celebrated afterwards at McDonald's with extra oatmeal cookies.
